It is traditional in India to leave your footwear in the depositary. You then walk through wonderful gardens created and nurtured by the director Col Bose and his staff .Continue walking along marble paving, flanked by stone balustrades imported from Southern China and carved with ancient patterns.
Approaching the staircases leading to the museum exhibition halls, you are greeted by two pools filled with the most beautifully kept Koi Carp.
When visitors asked Col Bose about the fish and their decorative scales, his reply was

"When the Lord wishes to relax he comes and paints patterns on the fish!"

Cleanliness the start of Education. The fish ponds of Chaitanya Jyoti Museum are a living example of this. If the fish were to live in unclean water they would lose their ability to swim and quickly die. Their bodies would decompose. So we keep our ponds clean, you can see the staff working to maintain a clean environment for the fish.
